Serviço público: "international Air Transport Colloquium"


«The Department of Transport and Regional Economics of the University of Antwerp will host a one-day international Air Transport Colloquium on Friday 3 December 2010, under the theme ‘It's all about a future. Air transport strategies reconsidered’. The colloquium focuses on the aftermath of the economic and financial crisis, the way that different actors in the air transport sector have survived, and the reaction patterns of the different actors for keeping their position tackling future challenges.
Invited colloquium speakers are affiliated to academic research institutes, airlines, airports, airport service providers and authorities/governments and cover both the US and Europe.
Topics dealt with are:
- Critical issues in air transport
- Expected climate change effects on the air transport sector
- Wealth destruction and demand for air travel
- Pricing issues reconsidered: from ATC to airlines
- Strategies of a non-alliance airline
- Future air strategy of a smaller, niche network alliance partner
The day concludes with a panel discussion with all important market players and conference participants. All attendants are invited to actively participate in the discussion. During the lectures and panel discussions, ample opportunity shall be provided for interaction between the speakers and the audience.
This colloquium is intended for all actors involved in the air passenger and freight transport business, as well as for academic researchers and consultants active in the sector.
