Subject: 2nd workshop on Bibliometric analysis of research performance (May 8, 2012, Porto)
Dear colleagues,
With the increasing relevance of bibliometric analyses in the assessment of researchers and institutional performances, we strongly feel the need to discuss and establish better criteria to perform evaluations. Moreover, multidisciplinary organizations, such as universities as well as cross-disciplinary institutions gathering researchers from several fields, often find major obstacles in defining indicators to measure research performance (both institutional and individual), and especially when comparison with monodisciplinar institutions is required.
For this event, we gathered national and international experts in the field in order to provide a wide discussion on the topic, thus helping to define better criteria to perform evaluations. The event is designed to be an informal one-day workshop, for the local and national scientific communities, in which discussions will be strongly stimulated.
